Leeds Test Objects’ Aluminium Patient-Equivalent Attenuator is designed according to DIN 6868, and is to be used when checking the image quality performance of general radiography systems to these standards. The plate is 152.4 x 152.4mm square (6¡± x 6¡±) and 23mm thick, with a permanently attached 2mm thick mounting plate (also aluminium), so that no extra material is present in the beam when imaging. This mounting plate has dimensions 168 x 175mm, for easy mounting into the accessory rails of common x-ray imaging systems. The phantom is supplied with 4 socket head screws, to enable fastening of an extra copper filter (optional) for use at 100kV.
